I just rescently started adding 1/2-1 oz of inline rubber sinkers approx 10 feet in front of the lure, when trolling for walleye >20 FOW.

I heard that an xtra 1 oz will get you down approx 10 feet deeper than w/o weight.

Something must be right because it's really been improving my catch.

Any thoughts or ideas:)

i do this all the time

i get the snap weights

i do alot of

35 out -put on snap weight 35 more feet out

50 out -sanp- 50 more

75 out-snap 75 more

just reel in when you have a fish, have partner take of snap and fight the fish rest of way

can use 1/2 all the way to 4 oz

have long lined for salmon the with this and caught fish

SIDE NOTE

if it is really weedy(weeds on surface), this is where my method excells

instead of weed going down to lure, it slides down until it hits snap weight and still have a clean lure-TRY IT next time your having problems with weeds. If it shallower i might do 50 out-snap then only 15 more feet, just enoguht to take down

also

if you are running boards, this will take line down faster, so multiple lines out each side can stay free from each other

I would suggest you get the precision trolling guide. If you troll for walleye you can't be without it. It takes all the guesswork out of the process. You can target the fish you are marking almost to the exact depth.
