Hey Guys...

Am headed over to Erie this weekend to chase the wally's. I have been following all the posts and am hoping things keep up as they have been.

What I want to know is... any recommendations on motel/hotels that are near the Sterling State Park Launch? I know there are a couple right off the highway there.... but maybe some of you know if there is one that kinda caters to the fisherperson. An inexpensive one would help too... as all we need it for is a place to sleep and shower.

Weather wise it is looking to be a good weekend so far... anybody else going to be out there this weekend?

I will also keep an eye on the reports so as to give me an idea of where to start Saturday morning... or if any of you want to PM me a hint or two... it sure would be appreciated!!

Thanks in advance!!

I did a quick check on Travelocity.com, and the only motels near there that show up under $50/night for double occupancy this weekend are the Best Western and the Knight's Inn. I haven't stayed at either, but the Best Western advertises a microwave oven and refrigerator in each room. Next cheapest option is the Hampton Inn at $71 (for AAA or AARP, $79 otherwise).

You may want to get on the phone asap, the is a touney on the big lake this weekend. The MWT will be launching out of Bolles Harbor on sat and sunday. It doesn't look like the tourney is full but expect around a 100 boats or more, with many being from out of town. Good Luck fishing the lake and with getting a room, the fishing has been great over the last couple of weeks and we can only hope that this continues.

At mapquest or expedia .co there is about 75 of them within 15 miles or so. I usualloy stay at Crosscountry Inn, whih is now a best western, its about 65 bucks a night but worth it compared to Knights in n, at 45 bucks, better boat parking , and nicer facilities., next door to Crosscountry is Hometown, they are pretty nice too, and a bit cheaper than Crosscountry.. Down by Bolles is an Amerihost, and MWTroll swears by it!Better call today, it still may be too late, just got back from 2 days at cedarpoint, so I couldn't reply earlier. Good luck!

stay away from the knights inn with a boat. They do not have good lots...

Amerihost and comfort inn are real nice.

Thanks Guys...

Just got the reservation at Best Western. If you bug them enough... you can get the AAA discount rate (and I don't have AAA :D ) which will bring the room down to 53.99 (taxes and all included in that). The Best Western does have refridgerators in every room too. Even if they are small ones... will help keep the cleaned fish cold until departure. Plus... a continental breakfast too.

Thanks Again... now who else is going to be out there Saturday?
