I've read all the responses to the food plots topics and it seems clover wins hands down. But, I'm wondering if clover can still be planted as late as August or should I look into rye?

Mptycreel, The people at this site should be able to help they sell clover and were pretty responsive when I requested info.
deerclover.com or e-mail them at deerfeed@earthlink.net

Hey, what about Alfa-Rack or Mossy Oak's Bio-Logic? I have property in Wexford County and the soil is fairly sandy with the exceptions being a few small areas around what used to be swamps. Anyone have any luck with these types of products?

I planted some Alfa-Rack this spring is some dry soil. I limed it and fertilized it when I planted it. I would suggest liming 6 months before you want to plant. The planting did not do very good at first but is starting to show improvement. I think it is because the lime is just starting to work into the soil.
I just planted some fall Bio-logic last week. It is already breaking ground. I planted it in a spot I had planted Rape this spring. I also limed it this spring. The Rape grew well dispite just being limed. So I hope the Bio-logic does well.
