I've got a Minn-Kota Endura transom mount (white case) that slowly quit working and wonder if it's worth tearing apart to fix. The unit was operating and it slowly started to slow down and stop. It was making a slight mechanical vibration like there was something wrong in the motor itself. I've done all the normal checks like dead battery & pulling off prop to check for obstructions. Note: when I tested it prior to load in I had to help the unit by spinning the prop with the power on. It ran for about 15 minutes before seizing up. Thanks for the advice.

probably not. but it will not cost anything to pull it apart and have a look !

Followed your advice and took apart the lower unit and found that it had water in it! Obviously the seals weren't working anymore. I cleaned up the windings & brushes and will reassemble it tonight. Nothing looks damaged. Just dirty with a little green corrosion on it. If this fixes it I'll probably just have to replace th o-rings.

If it was seizing, the water probably got into the bearings. You may be able to free them up and lubricate. If not, see if you can take the bearings out, and bring them to your local mom & pop hardware store to try to find a replacement. These bearings tend to be pretty common items. Let us know how it works out.

Re-greased the bearings and cleaned it up good. Seems to run great now.. a lot more torque and rpm. Will test it this weekend. Thanks for the help, guys.
