Wkend Trout

Went on my first trout trip for the year this wkend. Me and a friend stayed at the Pigeon river. I hit it hard first thing saturday morning in the misty rain, conditions seemed to be perfect. Nothing for a long time, then finally I caught a nice 16inch brown on a half crawler, first nice brown of the year put up a nice little tussel! After that I couldnt hook anything else with garden hackle or hardware, so called it a morning. Hit the Black R. in the evening with a few brookies, my buddy had a nice 12/13 inch brookie wrap him up in the brush, after it came out of the water.
Tried my favorite section of the Pigeon this mornin and fished hard to say the least and only ended up with about five undersized brookies, all caught on spinners.

A nice getaway for the weekend spent on one of your favorite rivers ......cant beat that!

Nice post. No you beat can't beat that. Was there many people out there fishing or floating? There sure wasn't many on the PM.

thanks for the info im headin up tommarow with my g/f to my familys cabin near wolverine after i due the normal tourist stuff i plan on hitting the river now i know what to expect ill post my luck when i get back
