Saturday during the blow I used the time for vehicle maintenance. Changed oil/air filters/trans filter gasket/and spark plugs in car, truck, lawnmower, and outboard. Got one plug changed ok on the Evinrude, but the other would not start threading in. On inspection the plug socket threads were stripped for the first 1/4".:eek: :eek: :eek: I tried to clean it out and thread the old plug in but it was making things worse with the aluminum block. Then I searched for a tap to get the threads started again. I finally found a 14 mm spark plug series tap that was the right tool for the job. I only had one shot to thread it right, and it worked.:D cleaned and torqued the plug in and she purrs like a kitty. PHEW!
