Sorry for the short report but my bed is calling me. Canoed the lower section on saturday, from reed green bridge to the mouth. Wasn't able to fish as I was trying to catch up to everyone else in the float party. Thought they were only 20 minutes in front of me, turns out some mullet had written the wrong time down, they were 2 1/2 hours in front of me. Finally caught them at the mouth. Cripes. Anyways, I talked to half a dozen guys while I was zooming past and the story was the same, no steelies, only some small ones..

Sunday we floated from high bridge to reed green. I fished with a panther martin spinner and took 2 brookies and 1 bow. All the fish were about 6". Lots of portages in this strech but some real nice country to look at, beautiful river! Nice to hear the wind blowing in the pines. Since I showed up on Sat, the flies showed up on Sun. Not sure what kind they were, (acted like baby black flies) but they were tearing us up. We learned that they like dark color shirts and that off repelent isn't worth a poop!! I have probably about 100 bites on me! Bring your bug suit!

I would have to agree on the bug suits. We were up last Thursday thru Sunday, and would never have made it without bug nets. Had no success with steelies, but did do quite well on brookies. We also canoed reed green to the mouth on Sat.
On that stretch we mostly caught little planter rainbows. Waded from high bridge sunday. Lost one steelhead and caught a 10" brookie. Also a few planters. We found most of our luck on a little feeder creek (think Derrick Coleman). Got plenty of brookies, most around 8", but did get a couple over 10".

Thanks for the update. Heading to our place in Paradise for the Memorial day weekend. Your report may have made up my mind either to fish the Taqua or the two hearted. Might just have try the two hearted. Has any body tried any of the other little streams that cross county road 500 or Farm Truck road west of Paradise. They have produced nice Brookies in the past years, just wondering if they still are.

I have yet to float the Two Hearted. Are there many portages? What downstate rivers can you compare it to?
