You can plant clover anytime after the last big frost. The old farmers used to plant clover seed right on the last snow. So it can go in a little early and do alright. Check out Wildlife Buffet food plot seed for deer, pheasants, etc..

Steve,
I planted some ladino clover 3 weeks ago and its coming in already. I would highly recommend doing it asap. Deer tore up my plot through out the winter bad enough were I had to reseed.
We highly recommend against planting our Imperial Whitail brands before the last hard frost. Many farmers frost seed but their product is not as tempermental as ours to get started for the first 40-50 days. Their product does not have the same constant protein levels as our's either, 30-35% for the clover and 25%-30% for the Alfa-Rack.
There is nothing more dangerous to a seedling than extreme heat or extreme cold. http://www.deerclover.com

How much damage will rabbits do to clover comming up in the spring? Especially new clover in it`s first year after planting. Should I take some protection against rabbits?
