Could someone tell me how the fish have been hitting in Tawas Bay? I am trying to decide if it is worth while to come up this weekend. (3.5 hour one way) Any info would be great appreciated.

There is a web page for N.E. Mich called Front Page, he posts reports for Tawas and Van Etten as well as Hubbard. It's www.geocities.com/Yosemite/Cabin/2177/FrontPage.html (http://www.geocities.com/Yosemite/Cabin/2177/FrontPage.html) ,click on Ice Fishing. You can email this guy and he will reply. Hope it helps.

Thanks for the info. I was thinking of checking that area out myself. I was wondering about ice conditions.
we had crew working up there this week and they said there were 40-50 vehicles out on the bay every day out by the state park point. whether or not they were catching anything who know. must be something out there or noone works.
I fished Tawas Tuesday and Wednesday, zip! Too windy Wednesday afternoon to keep the tied down portable shanty in place at bouy #4 where a few perch were caught at dawn. Lots of ice if the wind doesn't change direction and blow it out. Weedbed pikers and perchers were not catching.
