When you mount lights for bow fishing on a boat are they mounted over the shooter pointing down at the water or are they mounted down at the water below the shooter?

I have shot with both. I recommend the halogen lights that you can put on the top of the boat pointing down to the water.
The lights overhead do work but shadows do come into play.
Get a good generator, place the lights on some sort of rail that you can lean against and you are in business.
Good Luck

We have a deck mounted on the front of the boat.....500 Watt halogen light (6) mounted low on the deck. angled about 45 degrees.....when you are standing , the bugs stay down low and don't bother you......run with a generator with a car muffler......good system and we are shooting lots of fish....send a email janehal@yahoo.com if you are in the Evart area.....good luck....Hal
