Well fellas went on up to oscoda woth the wife my 2 year old daughter and my sisters 12 and 14. When we got to oscoda friday night we went for a walk on the pier and by the time we got to the end the wife was a little paranoid but we saw a couple walleye and browns there and as we were standing there talking to a few of the guys I saw a lake trout get caught on a firetiger countdown and the walleys were caught on 3/8 ounce jigs and asst worms and rubber baits. We went to the high banks and saw a few fish there in and out of the holes dodging the hundreds of hooks being tossed at them. We saw three landed in the little bit we were there. So on to the Foote damn. We got there and it was less crowded and the spillway was full of steele. So saturday we got up bright and early around 1:00 in the afternoon after the kids went swimming and we hit the jacuzzi. We got some lunch and headed over to the foote. I hooked ( or lined) 2 on green flashy flies and got a few suckers for the girls to look at. We saw 2 landed out from under the falls but then a couple of young guys came and would get as close as they could to the spillway and cast right up in there and it seemed like every cast they were hooking fish and dragging them over the side and landing them. Well the kids wanted to leave and I wlaked past the kids and saw what they were doing and thats the type of #$%&* that causes the people really fishing to get a bad rap. We left and dropped the kids off and I took the wife to Wiltzes and we both had 20 oz. new york strips and some of the best beer i've had in a while. Well after eating we went back to the pier and I casted some rapalas for awhile to no avail ( She didn't want to go all the way to the end so we stayed right by the cars ) and then we headed over to the foote again ( had spoons and all for the end but to avoid a fight over a couple fish I decided it was best to go where she could see the fish) . When we got there I heard the dnr had been down and I don't know what happened but the kids were gone. Some of the locals I heard had called and reported them. Well they shold have known better than to do that **** in broad daylight and in front of a couple dozen people. Any way I got into a slew of suckers and 2 more steele that both got off again. the wife had a couple and all in all it was a great weekend and I don't really care if I landed any but to see the kids faces when those suckers were on the shore and a few laughs was all worth it. Also all the mornings and evenings in the pool and hot tub didn't hurt any either.:D Sunday was spent looking at light houses and buying lots of cheese in pinconning as well as some blind robbins. Never ate them but will try tonight. All in all was a good weekend.
