New to Union Lake area, gonna try it this weekend. How's the ice? Any tips or suggestions? Walleye, crappie, perch lake?
See guys fishing by the launch all the time.

It's a good lake for all 3. I prefer the east end for Walleyes. West end should do you well for Crappie and Perch...I will say Perch are running small though.

E- I agree w/ DT. If you park at boat launch you're within access to decent fishing. But, if you have a map & are willing to hoof it, you might want to try one of the sunken islands. I usually fish the island way out in the middle.It's about an 8' flat that drops like a banshee.The eyes cruise these drops, usually paralell to the drop between 15 & 30 fow.Definitely worth the trip...GO-Wings>>>BG

Went out Sunday afternoon. Fished on a steep drop-off on the edge of the middle of the lake. Caught a few little perch and seen a bunch more. Had a small Walleye on at dusk, but because of my suprise and excitement I promptly ripped the bait out of his mouth. Water was crystal clear. Hopefully will try again next week.
