hey crow. i've asked about lake mitchel several times....no-ones talking. must be a hush-hush secret. i called a bait shop about a month ago. if you can believe what they say, people are doing ok in big and little bays.i've heard in the past the channel between the lakes produces . i have not been there this year. good luck. hope you post your report. I've done better in Cadillac, than in Mitchell, however, I was targeting Crappie and perch. My favorite spot is the public access on the SW side, past the state campground. Just turn north on the first road past the bridge. Once on the lake form the access point, I head NE. You should see some shantys in the area. Caught some seriously large Crappie a couple years ago. Also lots of small perch, to keep you busy if the Crappies aren't biting. I have seen guys fish for Walleyes in that area, but never seen any caught. Crappie hit on minnows, perch on wigglers.
Hope this helps!
Dave

I live in Cadillac. Haven't fished lake Cadillac in a couple of weeks but I do know that they have been getting perch in front of Kensington Park. Nothing real big but fish. There are people driving all over the lake. I haven't fished Mitchell enough this year to know what they are catching there! If you come up on a weekend you'll have to fight the snowmobiles and lots of people on the ice! Best fishing is during the week!!! Hope this helps you. FISH ON!!!!!!!
