Wife helped me struggle through trying to get these posted. So I hope they worked. Brown weighed 16.59 pounds and was 36 inches long. The Yard stick was misplaced by an inch when lining it up with 0. Didnt realize until after shot so it looks like it was an inch off but it was 36 inches long.

Beautiful fish! I love the hook jaw on that thing - it will definitely make for a sweet mount. Thanks for going through all the trouble on posting the pics...gives the rest of us something to drool over!

Thanks for the nice comments. Yes the hook jaw was even more predominant in real life and that is one of the things that made this fish so appealing. In the roof of his mouth where the hook met it had a deep indention like a ball and socket where the ball of the hook fit into his mouth. Good luck to all!

When I read your original post, I thought you may have had a Steelie, because most Browns that weight would be shorter. It definitely is a Brown, and a Hog at that. It looks like the biggest river Brown I have ever seen, but obviously is not.

That is one fish I would put on the wall.

Subocto,

I got it surf fishing out in the lake in Oscoda. The browns come nice and close into shore in April and part of May and I got it there. I posted the story under master angler brown but you have to scroll down as it is a few pages back. I had one thread titled the same but I was trying to post the pictures so go farther back.
