[Surf Fisher]

Went up Thurs night. Got 0 smelt. Fished Friday in the surf and got 1 nice laker on the cleo. Waves got really rough by 11:00 a.m. Went to highbanks and not many fish on the beds so went to boyscout hole. Fished about an hour and nothing. Lots of suckers are in the river. Went back out in the surf about 6:00 p.m. and got beat up and wet by some big rollers. Friday night 0 smelt. Fished the surf Sat morning and got 1 small brown just perfect for eating. Decided to go home to the wife for mothers day instead of seeing if the smelt would run. Good choice as I called up there today (Sunday) and they said nothing.

Yeah, I figured the highbanks would be fished out after this week, oh well, I had a good year. Does it look like the run's winding down? Tight-lines.

I didnt know it ever wound up on the au sable.........this year was sad for me:(
