How do I determine what size bearing buddy will fit my trailer hubs without having or buying a micrometer?

To install them you will have to break down the assembly anyhow. Take it to the store with you.
The two most common sizes are 1.78 and 1.98, if you want to mail order them, measure them with a scale, thats roughly 1 3/4" or 2" not like it's a couple thousanths difference.

Actually the bearing buddies that I used on my Pop-up didn't need the assembly broken down. You do have to take the dust cap off and replace it with the BB. As was said just take the cap in to the store with you. I thought there was only one size, but if there are more sizes, the cap wil exactly match one of the sizes. I'm fully convinced that the difference will at least be a fraction of an inch and not microns. It should be obvious with the cap and the BB in your hand whether it will fit. They sell them at all Boat stores and most camper stores, so one should be in driving distance. There is no good reason to buy mail order, because by the time you pay for shipping you've absorbed any savings the mail order place might have offered. Besides if you buy local your money goes back into your own neighborhood. [editorial: where it belongs.]

I got onto the bearing buddy website and there are no dealers worth driving to from my location. Either that or their site is not up to date. I live near Ann Arbor. I'll check the phonebook for boat places in the area and give them a shot.

Check Meijers or Walmart. I know for sure Meijers has some. Also try anywhere they sell trailer and trailer parts.

FYI...
Never put Bearing Buddies on Live axles. If the grease gets thru the seal it will get on your brakes. The proper thing to do is repack them once every spring. If you do a good job, then you won't need to worry all yr. Them BB make it so easy to blow grease thru the seals they are amost more trouble then they are worth.
