Does any one grow food plots for turkey hunting? What do you use? Is it to late to plany this year? Does anything grow that fast?

I think it is too late to plant anything but if you planted it early you might have some up by the late season. I am planting some Chufa and Clover this spring. Anything you do to help hold the turkeys on your hunting property will help. Good luck hunting.

One of the best things you can do is provide nesting areas and fields that will hold grasshoppers which the young birds can forage on.Contact the NWTF for some hands on advice, you can also join the NWTF to help out turkeys and promote youth turkey hunting.

Wildlife Buffet has some very good seed. Check out the bird habitat seed. Also deer clover, etc....

It is time to start getting the fields ready to plant. Do delay and buy the best.

Turkey poults will need an enormous amount of protein during the growing season after thy hatch. The best products will have a high protein value to the bugs which the young turkeys will feed on. The older birds love the clovers and the alfalfas. We get emails all the time telling us about the birds plucking our clover out and swallowing it like a worm
