Well thanks to Capt Jay and Dave miles I finally got art a couple of walleyes, one a little over 19 and 0ne over 22 inchs, he was tickled to death, we caught or art did a 15 inch silver bass also, got the 19 inch in Breast Bay near the shipping channel in 18 ft of water, the other was the 22 inch in front of Boles a 1/4 mile from the boat channel coming out in 12 feet of water. all 3 were caught on a gold and silver Producer about 100 feet behind the boat.

Steve,
Glad you caught some fish, just keep working the areas we talked about. You'll continue to catch fish there for another month or so easy. I think we might run over and fish the 18th for the day if weather isn't to bad.

went out this morning, 5-7-03, looked like rain and after 30 minutes there was rain, Art got another just about 20 inchs in 20 minutes of fishing and then another smaller and lost one , all in a hour, the rain was to much and we left The waves with the wind out of the east were about 3 ft which made trolling speeds hard to keep even and tangled some lines wasteing some of that hour, I believe we could have caught a limit in 4 hours.

Good job on the catch...I have a couple of questions.
I fished lake Erie for the first time last year and ended up buying the hot spots map for the lake. My map shows the area close to where you were fishing to be fouled with underwater net stakes..any information on that...
Is Bolles a state or public launch, I've only launched out of Erie Metro park
and finally what is a producer...

Bolles is the State Park ramp righ off the expressway (I-75) at exit 11.
The producer's is a company out of Kalamazoo that make a Hot-N-Tot look-a-like called the "Double Downer". They have the metal lip, and have been working great for me so far this season. Plus, thay are less than half what youll pay for a hot-n-tot, or Dave's Ka-Boom lures.
Hopefully I'l see you guys out there Friday.

Swamphound, I don't know any thing about net stakes in any area, The only thing I have snagged on in Erie are zebra mussles on the bottom and they just cling to the hook. the launch is a dnr launch that costs 24.00 a year or 4.00 a day, there are about 10 ramps allowing 20 boats to launch at once. Capt jay told me about Producers, I bought them at walmart for about $2.75.
Capt Jay, with you and Dave helping me finaly get into the walleyes has been great, arts face lights up every time he gets a walleye. he tells me now not only is he the perch king it is the bass and walleye king to, he said the last time out. A first ever catching any thing on a lure, first walleye, biggest fish he ever caught. Thanks for the help.
