I've done so-so on walleye on South LL: my range is limited because of a small boat and can only fish from the southern end of the lake, to about 1 mile north, along the west side. I know that part of the lake very well, but have only caught a few keeper 'eyes. This is the only time of the year I fish for walleyes, so I am not any kind of expert, plus I am taking my (even less expert) son and his friend with me. We will be using crawler harnesses, jigs and minnow baits.
Does anyone have suggestions about effective colors, size of spinners on the harnesses, weight of jigs, etc? Also, any other tricks of the walleye trade specific to this lake would be helpful.
Thanks much,
DaveW

Dave,
we have done OK in the S.Lake, but it was the North end in mid-summer. We seldom get a large fish; mostly 2 lbs or so. I think it's a pretty tuff lake. I think we took most fish casting twister tails on jigs around the many points.
