Hey Steve, How do you like that title? You should have called me!! I'll E-mail you soon.

We started out by Turtle Island at 8:30, and come to find out, someone dumped 2 billion gallons of yoohoo there since I last left. Only about 1 inch of visibility.

After an hour, we loaded up and drove North for an hour untill we hit Stoney Point. Water was fairly clear, and 5 degrees warmer.

We started out deep, and when we hit 18 feet, the flags were dropping!! 21, and 22 inch smallmouth, one sheephead, several large whitebass, and 12 walleyes ranging from 20 to 27.5 inches.
That sent my Mother and Father-in-law home with their limits, and moved me into the number one spot for favorite son-in-law.

1/2 the walleyes were females, and still shooting eggs all over my boat.

ALL fish were on 1/4 oz Double Downers, perch color, 100' behind the boards. We had several doubles, and two tripples, but never did land all 3 at once. All they managed to do was tangle the lines.

Good luck,

Captain Jay

You got a can of whoop A** coming. you dog, you know me and art are fishing impaired, he was tickled to death to catch that Bass. I thought you didn't show up because we went to the mud hole and came back and never saw you, I told art you must not be here so we didn't call. You are about the only person doing any good, the survey guy he had next to nothing to write down. I am going to e mail art the photos this morning, he's going to cry when he see's how well you did. I am going to e mail you this morning. Arts Probably going to climb up and smack me in the head for not calling but we never saw your boat

I ran a line from turtle island to stoney point at 12 mph, and we took a pounding. It was ROUGH out there early.
We saw 3 or 4 boats in toward Bolles when we passed that area.

And before you or anyone else wastes their time, we trolled EVERYTHING before we figured out what they were hitting on. Challengers, reef runners, rouge's, wiggle warts, rapala's, harnasses...you name it, we tried it. Of course it can change on any given day, but I'd start with the Double Downers (Hot-n-Tots).

Good report, but now it's going to be hard to work. They fight real good too, man that must have been fun.

Where around Stoney Point? I come out of Brest Bay and ran all the way down to turtle Island the last couple times out. 13 Sunday. 4 last night after work (tues).

Nice job captain Jay. I have a question. Did you change the snap that comes on the Double Downer? They come with a simple snap that's different from the connector used on Hot n Tots. I am wondering how the different connector might affect the action of the lure. Thanks.

I did not change anything on the lures. They had great action, great flash in the water, and they all ran true.

I've read the reports that said "you HAVE to change the snaps or they don't work", and "none of them run true".....Blah, Blah, Blah!!!

Until I have a problem with them, I'm not messing with them. They pulled in a 27.5 incher yesterday while trolling and the snap held together good for that, plus the sheephead we caught that felt like a salmon, and still no problem.

If I do have any break or give me a problem, this place will be the first ones to see the post about it!
