When is the best time to plant clover, rye, rape, soy beans, wildlife buffet, etc? Is it still too soon to lime and fertilize and prep for seeding? Do you disk before or after applying lime and fertilizer?

I'm new at planting, so forgive the ignorance on my part.

Thanks,
Ben

Ben, traditional spring planting in the State of Michigan is April 15- June 15. The main thing to remember is not to plant until the last chance of a hard frost. Usually May 1.

Thanks feedbag-

I guess I'm getting anxious about it. I'm excited to get started on this foodplot. How about the lime?

Ben, I too am getting ready to plant. I will be killing the weeds in late April then waiting two weeks to disc. After I disc I will spread the lime and fertilizer then the seed about a week later. Right now I am clearing the spots to be planted and enjoying the time in the woods with out the bugs. Good luck in your planting. :)
