April 28 Mon, from 9 am till 3 pm, Not one bite between the two of us but 3 guys fishing within 100 yards were catching them, they had about 12 between the 3 of them by 12:30, the one hollered over that he was using a blue hair jig tipped with a minnow. this was to the east of turtle Island drifting east starting in 8 ft of water. Water was murky muddy, looked like a foot of visibility. I tried casting a little of every thing, jigged with hair jigs tipped with minnows, with out minnows, let them set in the rod holders letting the wave action work the jigs and minnows, Nothing, there were at least 30 boats in the area, we saw a couple more that caught one or two but for the most part it was slow to none for a lot of people. the ones being caught looked to be about 16 to 18 inches long. Going back tomorrow but I am going to fish right out of Boles to the left, The water was much cleaner with no muddy color like it was out by turtle island. The fish counter said some guy caught his limit out in front of the stacks in a few hours.we will be out about 8:30 to 9

LIMITS - LIMITS - LIMITS!!!!!!!!

that was the story on sunday the 27th at turtle island....2 of us got our limit (12 fish) in 2.5 hours......all of our fish were caught jigging directly below the boat while drifting from 7' to 9' of water. visibility was only about 8 inches below the surface.

there were about 100 boats in the immediate area. the entire time we were there, a fish was being netted......this boat, that boat, every boat we were around.

our bait of choice was a green-chartreuse/black jighead 1/2 ounce and a medium shiner (about 3.5 to 4 inch). we were letting our jig hit the bottom and popping it up about 6 inches, and tight-lining it back to the bottom......all of our bites were on the fall.....they were slamming it!!!!! i started with a stinger hook, but it didn't matter.....my partner never had a stinger on and landed all of his fish....i lost 2 at the boat, due to stinger hook pulling out of the fishes mouth.....it finally broke off, and i landed the rest of the fish i hooked.

our fish were 18" to 22".......ALL MALES......3 to 5 pounds each......perfect eaters in my book.

good luck tomorrow steve, and all else who venture out.
