Stoney Creek Rowing Regattas

Well here it is: May 9 @ 11- Midwest Rowing Regatta 2000 people
May 18 Detroit Sunfish Regatta 10:00 to 5:00 P.M
May 23- 25 Michigan Rowing Regatta All Day
They will be all using Eastwood beach at these dates so be aware. I heard that they will be putting the bouys in length wise very shortly so it will be a mess again. Looks like all month but like some have said lets see how long it takes them to take it down after the 25th. It,s a shame they have know consideration for the fishing people.
Also June 8th the Oakland Co. Bass Anglers have a bass tourney from 7:00 A.M to 3:00 P.M.

I'd be willing to bet good money that it will be at least the middle to end of June before those stupid buoys are gone ! :mad: Gonna be the same old story as last year I'm afraid.

John: I know they got the message last year about how long it took to get the buoys off the lake once the rowing was over. I do work there part time and was also one who was asking people on our site to call in and complain about it. But it is all about money. They pay for the use of the lake and Eastwood beach . The park also makes money on the entry fees, and in the summer all the food sold at the beaches.
I will do all I can but do the same this year as last if they don,t get it off. I know I will do my share in complaining to everyone.

I knew there was somebody from the site that worked there. I just couldn't remember who. I'm willing to give them a reasonable length of time to get the buoys removed. But once that's up. I'm gonna be on the keyboard and phone DAILY ! :)

Went out there today ... warm weather was nice ... fish were jumping everywhere! Just not biting :( ... It was a great day to be out there though. Saw several others fishing (dont know if they caught any or not) and another guy wading in the weeds by the boat rental.

Hope the warm weather continues when I am off again on Wed and Thur next week!

Did anyone call problem solvers at one of the local tv stations and present both sides of the story? I am sure the park people wouldnot want this kind of publicity. my 2 pennies worth.

I contacted the Problem Solvers at Fox 2 last year and got NO RESPONSE at all ! I guess it wasn't a big enough problem for them to care about or deal with.

Oh well, I tried.
