Walking in to scout turkeys in the pre dawn darkness this morning I came across some kind of animal that was growling, woofing' and snarling like nothing i've never heard before. It was still dark out , but it was within 15 yards and standing his ground. Needless to say I found another way around. After the turkeys did their thing I returned to the same spot and noticed a large hole dug into the side of a sandy hillside. The opening was about twice the size of a woodchuck hole. I would have taken a close look but the den opening was in fairly thick brush and if anything would have squirted out I would have been S.O.L. From what I have seen on TV badgers tend to be a little cranky. So since I didnt get a look at this "thing" I am only guessing as to what it is. Anybody have any ideas?
