Buddy of mine called me today and said that he smacked the perch around Harsens island. Claimed that got a limit in a couple of hours, all nice fish on jigs tipped with leaf worms 4fow or less. I am kind of wondering if isn't yanking my chain though, since we just got back from FL and gave him all kinds of grief for not going!!! Has anyone been fishing this area?? Whats the story?? Regardless, I am pulling the boat out of the barn tommorow, hope to have it ready for the weekend....Can't wait to try out the new fishfinder!!!

Last Sunday I heard a report from Blue Water Bait that said they were hammering the yellowbellies on Harsen's. Don't know if it was from shore or boat. Was your buddy fishing from a boat? If so, do you care to share?;)

I called him and said that he was fishing in the "puddle jumper" which is a 14 jon boat. That would lead me to believe that he was pretty close to shore. He wouldn't give me the exect spot ("paybacks are he#$, he said) but did say that he was in shallow water, so you could probably reach them from shore. I'm going to go get the boat out of the barn today and start preping that. Work is going to get in the way till next tuesday though, so if you want to go looking for some perch next week let me know and we will hook up...... I usully launch out of fairhaven.

Sure thing SS... I live next to the launch in Fairhaven and I could follow you over in my boat... I know a few guy's who would also be interested in hitting Harsen's too... If we had to boats and radios, I'm sure one of us could locate the schools. I might even try this weekend as I have 4 days off. If I do I'll post results...
