Corn borers are one of my favorite bluegill baits but I'm having trouble getting them this year in my local bait store. How can ya get your own in the fields? Are they in cut stalks or do ya have to look in still standing corn? Good fishing to all!!

Are these holes easy to see?
Are borers in lower part of stalk or higher up, next to the ears?

I used to go with my dad looking for borers, but I was just a kid then...many moons ago.

Curious,
y2

you,re right, corn bores have a special appeal to bluegills, must be the smell.
