Got out on Sunday and the water was pretty dirty but there were pockets of cleaner water to be had. Fished most of the day in areas with very stained water and got nada, zero, ziltch. Moved to my Pike honey hole and comensed to hammering them. Caught 8 out of the area with the largest being a 31" brute. My buddy broke his reel, so we called it quits. Kept our limit and headed home... Man was that a blast!!! Saw guy's jigging in the North Channel along with the big rigs fishing for steelies and browns. Did see one boat pull in a small one and one guy boated a walleye. 4 days off this coming weekend will put more fresh fish in the freezer.:)

Good to hear about some good pike fishing. Casting or trolling? I know its a secret but were you in the channel or lake? Trolled for a little while on saturday but no luck. I had some great days for pike in late april last year in that area of the bay.
If your boat won't get up on the flats, hit the edges in the Middle Channel.

Channel edges is what we were fishing... cast up in the shallows and pull down the drop-offs using deep diving lures. I prefer Huskie Jerk deep divers with most of my action coming off of them. Jerk, then let it sit for a second... repeat...
I haven't hit the flats but I hear it's a great place to wade...
Flats can be great wading, it's actually getting a little late for sight fishing, the fish will be out a little deeper, 3-6'. Any pockets of new weeds will hold fish. Next week they should start smacking buzzbaits and poppers. Let the games commence....:)
