fished a lake in the rockford with a few frriends. we had 18 flags up and managed to pull 11 pike through the ice. the biggest were 2 30inchers that weighed about 5 or 6 pounds each. only one fish was smaller than 24 inches.

just curious where at in mi. rockford is?

I've been fishing for pike on a private large pond. Last year we would get up to 10 flags within 2 hours. This season we have had 2 flags. I contribute the decline to it being dark under the ice. What are all of you doing to increase the pike strikes? Are you clearing snow around the hole? Are you adding color to you bait?

Mtnman, Rockford is approx. 10 miles north of Grand Rapids on the west side of the state.

THE ONLY THING I AM DOIND DIFFERENT IS I SET MY MINNOW DEEP (3 FEET OFF BOTTOM) AND I USE A LITTLE SMALLER MINNOW WITH A SPINNER BLADE ABOVE IT. AND YES I DO CLEAR SNOW AROUND MY HOLE.
