Are you talking about anchoring your shanty? If so, attach a rope to the base of your shanty with a loop at the other end. Cut a hole in the ice. Slip a 1' piece of 2x4 through the loop in the rope and then feed it down the hole. Pull back on the rope so the 2x4 is flat against the underside of the ice. Take up the slack in the rope at the shanty base. Repeat for the other 3 sides of the shanty. Hope this helps.
