Great site.
I've been out ice fishing just about every weekend since the ice came in. I need some new excusses to try on the wife so she won't get upset that I'm going....again!! If have any good ones let me know! Fish on!!

I hear ya man. I think it would be easier on me if I told my wife that I had a girlfriend than to tell her that I am going fishing again.

tell your wife that you are trying for a promotion at work! Your boss has a power auger that just won't run right and you are helping him fix it. The thing is a real piece of crap cause it breaks down every Friday afternoon.!

The auger one is good, but how about this one. To pull it off, you have to let your voice sound a little emotional,
"Honey, I...I have been thinking a lot about my parents and how they are getting older. I am starting to realize how precious each day is. I just need a couple hours to myself, where I can look at the sky, and be outdoors."
that's lame! just tell her you love to fish.
maybe you guys are just joking.

MOMS is right. This should have all been taken care of before the wedding. :)

You just have to remind her of all of the other times you had so many fish it took you hours to clean them. But now you KEEP coming home empty handed, tell her if she can do any better maybe she should go out there with you!She mightlike it and if she don't maybe she will have a better understanding about it anyway's.Never mind keep her home and tell her to have dinner ready when you get there! One day as we were leaving the Grand Haven harbor to go salmon fishing, I complimented the gentleman on his nice boat. He said that he told his wife he was going to get a new boat or a girlfriend, both cost money, which do you prefer? He got the boat.

Thanks for all the input. I think I'll just send her some flowers before I tell her I'm going....Again!!
