Robins leave when things get tough , And they'er nothin but a glorified starling any way and they reek havok on the cherry growers crops . And if you have a mullberry tree , you will be at war with them to get your share.

If we are going to change the state bird, at least change it to something most people see on a routine basis.

OK, the k. warbler is unique to Mich, so what? I don't think I've ever seen one and probably never will.

Actually the black caped chickadee was proposed a few years ago, but it failed to gain enough support to pass.
As for the turkey vulture, well,,,, I just don't think very many people would go for that one:rolleyes:
If it were up to me I would choose the wood duck. They are my favorite of all avian, and since MI is the "land of big water" it seems only fitting our state bird should be a waterfowl:)
