I voted Aluminum Rowboat but I'm not exactly sure you could call it that. It only weighs 110lbs and looks alot more like a canoe than a boat. I was looking for a canoe or something that could be transported easily. Either on a vehicle roof or on a pop-up later. A neighbor decided he wanted to let his Grumman Aluminum sport boat (15' 4") go for a price I couldn't pass up. He even threw in 2 brand new oars (8 footers. A bit long). Its a flat bottom so I won't be able to put it on anything other than inland lakes. If the pop-up camper doesn't happen soon, I'd like to upgrade to a 16 foot V-bottom similar to what kbkrause or Kroppe have so I can go out on Erie.
I don't have an actual pic yet. I just bought it last fall and its been in storage. The photo below is from the Grumman website.

Nice boat. Just curious if you purchased new through Newaygo Marine and if you did your experience with their customer service. I've got a 19' fiberglass Starcraft with a 350 Chevy. Try the south east side in front of the channel and in it for crappie and gils. Thanks for the info on Lakeside. I need to order some parts from Starcraft and I think I'll order through them. I traded in a boat at Newaygo Marine because it was in there for repair and I decided not to fix and get new. They gave me a fair deal on the boat and trade in but I had terrible customer service. I would not recommend Newaygo Marine for repair or sales. I have never used Anchor Marine but know a few people that have and there's been a mixed bag of satisfaction.

Right now I have the title to a Tracker Targa 18 WT/115 Merc and all the big water toys. Last fall I took it into a local boat dealer and agreed to swap it for a 24 Fischer Pontoon (keeping my moter/and troller). Thus far he hasn't sold my boat. I'm giving the deal until May 1st - at which point the pontoon or Tracker will be committed to for the summer...I really don't care which, long as I have a boat!

The lund pro-v is a good choice. My boat is on the same version but smaller and works very well.You have to match boat, trolling motor, fishfinder etc.. to the water you want to fishand also how many are going to fish in the boat.I have a 24v motorguide on the rear for tough current and a 12v with power turn on the front for slow current and inland lakes.

Steely Head, In my opinion Ranger would provide 2 different models to see defined differences, but to me it mostly inside depth. Check out Rangers mutli-species rig, and one of the bass boat rigs.

Which port is yet to be determined... have some "feelers" out to see where the coho are cooperating at!! :D

Shore fisherman here. There are some lakes in my area that I am itching to go fishing with a boat on. If I ever buy a boat, it has to be able to go shallow on the Grand River and handle island lakes while being very sturdy. I am guessing an aluminum bass boat with something to protect the prop for when I am fishing the Grand River.

Just picked up a Lund Pro Sport 18' last week w/ a 90 merc. Minnkota power drive for the bow and a 5hp merc. kicker that I already had. Would have liked to have a little more motor but getting married in June and will be looking to move to a little bigger house after that. Well after reading all of the posts, I believe that I have the oldest rig on LSC...A '64 crestliner runabout with a 50 merc and a 7hp kicker... The "Retro 69" was bought for a whopping 250 bucks last year. Of course after paint, tires, new wiring, rebuilding the engine, and the electronics, Its up to about 2k in it!!! My ex complained about so much about the boat that I had to get rid of her. ( The girl, not the boat, never the boat!!) Now the new gf loves the water, loves to fish and has a 26' nova of her own and a pontoon boat to boot. Plus 3 wells on the clinton river!! Might have to keep this one.;) Oh, Ive got a yak and a michicraft canoe too for those river rat days! So much water, so little time!!!!

I agree on the Eagle 320. Just helped a friend install that unit on his boat. Works excellent....hands down the best value on the market today. Doesn't really have the power for really deep water but for general use it would be tough to beat. It was nice to be able to pick out the fine detail on brush piles and the like.

Sometime ago - I told Kroppe what a great value the FishMark320 was & he lives near Cabela's , B.J. BOUGHT the SeaFinder320DF (Dual Frequency) , which I didn't know hardly a thing about.....He Mentioned the FACT that in addition to included speed & temp. , it had a deeper depth range - which interested me AND prompted me to email Lowrance/Eagle about it's power output.
They informed me that the printed and downloadable manuals had already "gone to press" the power output was 4000 watts rather than 1500 like the manual says. That was enough to purchase one for myself!
Anybody that wants great screen resolution & deepwater performance should consider the SeaFinder320DF! (And a SCREAMIN' price - -$239.99!!!)

thanks for re-assuring my choice. Picked up the the 320 from BPS yesterday with speed sensor( had to pay extra for the sensors since it doesnot come with it). They keep selling out of it. You have to call them every couple of days to see if they have it in. If they do, you can ask them to hold it for you for 48 hrs. Can't wait to put it on.

To others interested in this unit, Gander Mountain is also selling it for 189.99, the speed sensor is 49.99. Bps matches their price.

Craig, I know what you're saying about the "green" color. I don't think power washing is going to rid the paint though, it will be a great first step in prep for a color change however ! A bit of fine sanding and a coat or two of a nice gray shade and you will be in business. Hope you have many years of pleasure slaying the fish in the boat.

1974 13' fiberglass vbottom, 7.5 mercury (, and trolling moter, just gets me around small lakes. not very stable, last summer i was leaning over releasing a fish and my buddy sets the hook real hard and had a fish on, I was in the water. thanks grandpa. :p

Mine is a 1988 blue fin 16 ft. 50 hp. force motor. in kinda rough shape needs some tlc. Still floats and runs.
