With the season only 9 months away I am getting a tingle already!
My profit sharing check will be here in a couple months and I can feel it burning a hole in my pocket already.
I don't know if you guys watch Ebay that close, but there are some real deals on used/almost new bows on Ebay. I think I will go that route--tending toward a Mathews MQ32 or Q2, but will keep my horizons open for Parker, Diamond, or a McPherson Hornet.
Anybody else have the bug already?

My brother has his #70 Q2XL on ebay right now. It has a 31 inch draw but he really needs a 32 inch draw. He tried it for a year and it drove him nuts. If I were in the market for a bow I would consider ebay. I like the MQ-1 or the Q2, both bow are around 36-37 inches long. I love my Feather-light so it will be awhile before I trade it in.

I picked up the Q-2 in the fall, and I would not trade it for anything. Smoothest shooting bow I have ever shot.

You know the only thing about the Q2XL is the size issue axle to axle. I am tired of my clumbsy 40" bow alreadyl. It looks like archery companies will all offer a sub-33" bow this year.
I bought a Mathews Ultra-Max in Oct and love it my friend has a Q-2 and it is a real nice bow too. either way Mathews is #1 in my book

Mathews Mathews Mathews Mathews
Boy that's all I see here------------
I have shot alot of bows and the one I like this year is----YES a Browning Bow, a Browning?????
I like the Browning Adrenaline SX two cam bow.
Axle to Axle 33"
Let-Off 70%
Brace Height 6 1/2"
IBO Speed 308 fps
Weight 3.6 lbs
Shoots very smooth and I think it will be a winner for Browning this year. No it's no Mathews, But it is 35% cheaper.
A Mathews will shoot better a score on the target, but they both will make a good kill on a Deer, or Elk.
Give it a try....

The only thing with Browning is my hunting partners uncle bought a new Browning several years ago (maybe 3-4). His first season of use he had a fatal limb split. If that wasn't bad enough Browning was doing through that divisional change at the time where they didn't know if they would be in the bow business the following year (1997?).
What eventually happened is they would not replace or repair his bow even at his cost. He ended up replacing the bow and putting the browning in the attic.
Another thing is if you break a Mathews you can go anywhere to get it fixed.

I have been repairing bows for 18 years and known the Repair Manager at Browning for 18 years. They had problems in that time frame of 1997, and were never talking about going out! If the bow was under warranty still Kurt Musgrave at Browning would fix it with out question. AND if the bow was not under warranty, he would tell you to send it in and they would repair it at a given cost.
I don't know were you got your information on that Browning bow limb problem above, but something MUST be missing from your story.
Browning has been one of the best of all 22 bow companies I deal with.
An NOW YOU CAN’T get a Mathews bow repaired under Warranty at any shop! We have two Pro Shops and one can’t sell or do any Warranty repairs because of another shop has Mathews in the City.
OH what bow do I shoot? I shoot for Martin, a Phantom. Maybe I will shoot a Browning some day! Why do I not shoot a Mathews, Hoyt or P.S.E.? Because Martin came to me and asked to.

Bowdoctor, nice to have you in the forum for advice.
Like I said it was close to 4 years ago so I don't remember the details completely. I thought I remember that at the time Browning as the corporation got a new CEO and was thinking of getting out of the bow business to concentrate on it's more profitable enterprises.
I can't recall the exact details of his bow dilema other then he bought it at Gander Mountain. The bow broke, and nobody would repair or replace parts. The parts would cost more than a new bow so he closeted the bow and bought a new bow and is much happier.
I am sure Browning makes a nice bow, but you can't convince me that they are the leader of their industry either...
My tastes have always tended toward spending the extra money to get a better product so I can rely on it (because I am clumbsy and tend to drop my bow once a year). The reason this forum works is because we all have differing oppinions--that's why it works.
Take care

Fred Bear,
I purchased my Epic Extreme last fall. I had to buy a new bow since my old "Oregon" busted a limb, just two weeks before the departure date for my Quebec Carabou trip. At first, I was quite hesitant, since I was used to the Oregon (a long, smooth, E-wheeled bow). The Extreme has a totally different feel due to the single cam. I was also concerned about the fact that the Extreme is a very short bow. I shoot with fingers. However, after a few days of constant practice, I became quite proficient and accustom to the Extreme. After shooting it for some time, I feel it is one of the best finger shooting bows I have owned. I get better holes on a paper test with the Extreme than I did with my Oregon.
Unfortunately due to the weather, I was unable to take any carabou with the bow. But, I used the Extreme during archry season and bagged two nice deer.
One thing about the Extreme that I had to get used to, was the point where the let-off begins, while drawing the string back. At first, I was using the 75% let-off, but I then switched to a lesser let-off (I believe its 50%) and I had much more control of the string/arrow. It seems that the greater poundage at the let-off stage helped me (almost like an E-wheel).
All in all, I am very happy with the Extreme and would purchase another one if I had to.
Fred Bear & Rodeo, I shoot a Bear Code bow that I'm quite happy with. If I was in need of a new bow I would definitely consider the Epic Extreme. A little more speed and higher priced model than my Code. But I'll shoot the Code a few more years at least. Works well for me. Used to shoot a Jennings Carbon Extreme that I keep for backup. That's a good bow too. The only reason i got The Bear was the new split limbs and single cam technology..kind of an update for me.I've never shot a Matthews (sticker shock) but to me they're not twice the bow others are as their prices suggest. I think alot of folks buy them (Matthews) like they're buying themselves some skill..

I purchased a new bow three years ago. I love it so much that I can honestly say it will probably be the last compound I ever hunt with! So nope, no new bow fever for me.<----<<<

Call a couple pro shops that carries the Stingray and ask them how much warranty work they get on them. When the Stringrays first came out they had a couple problems that plagued them, which I am sure they worked out by now... but I would call and see. For the money it is a nice bow, but if you look close they all pretty much use the same cam and riser setup. Everybody makes a 32" bow now just about. I like the Parker 31, McPherson Hornet, Diamond Hornet, Champion makes, oh and, not to forget the Mathews MQ32, and new one this year the SQ32.
