Information on Hess Lake in Newyago County

Wondering if this lake is a good one for ice fishing. Any information would be helpful. Thanks

I've heard Hess is good for Crappies. I know some guys who fish it at night. They fish in about 3' of water right under the ice. I checked the ice there Saturday - didn't seem too good yet.

The ice on Brooks isn't bad. We caught about 20 gills and a dozen crappies.

Hess is a great pike lake. I have also done well on crappie.

Thanks for the info guys. Mike were they fishing out on the main part of Brooks yet? I was there last week and did real well but not on the main part.

I haven't fished the main lake yet either. The snow isn't helping the ice! Checked it Sunday afternoon, the ice didn't seem "solid".
