biggest perch of the year

I would like to see who has caught the biggest perch of the year or best personal catch for anyone. If you have a picture that would be great if not then just tell the story and the length.

Mine was a 12 1/2" not the biggest but was nice and full of eggs. I caught it on Clark Lake in Jackson COunty

The biggest I caught was over in st lukes. It was just a little under 14 inches we ended up with 50 between the 2 of us and they were jumbos. if I can figure out how to post pics here I will. oh yeah I did catch a big one at lake erie metro park also, I think it was 13.5 inchesand really fat.

While I personally did NOT catch it, I saw a perch at hubbard lake that went an HONEST 16 inches....Beautiful fish

Caught a 13 1/2 on a tipup with a big minnow on it went to pull the the line up and felt something on it but the flag never went off

Biggest perch this year was 13.5". It was definately a personal best.

My best came last year at 12 3/4"

The biggest I have seen is on the wall of my buddies cabin...His old man got one out of Bay de Noc about 5 years ago that was 17 1/2"...It's HUGE...

My best this year is around 11 1/2". Best ever was back to back 16 inchers, but then I didn't get another bite for the rest of the day.

12.5 inches was the biggest of the season, and got 11 of them about that size the same day! (11.5" thru 12.5") Along with around 15 of the usual "dinks" (8" to 10"!) as we called that day.

Man that was some good eat'in! They looked more like perch "Steaks" than just regular ol' filets!

Gotta go now, you've got me hungry for another "Steak" dinner again!

13" off of the day sail ramp at metro in LSC.... three about that size and a keeper walleye for an entire days fishing. but the walleye made my day cuz its my first one through the ice.

last summer I was on a salmon charter out of Illinois and no lie, we reeled in a 16 1/4 in perch on a salmon spoon run on lead core.

No one on the boat including the mate and capt. could believe it. It was a quick spur of the moment trip and I did not have my camera but that was tops in my book.

BTW I did not reel it in, some guy that was on the boat with us that we did not know caught it and said he was going to get it mounted. Also I do not know what the Illinois record for perch is but I bet it was close.

Seems that every year I get a few that are just a smidge under 14. Just can't break that barrier but hopefully that will change this year. Lots of big fish were caught through the ice this year and I'm on a mission to find them when the water gets soft!

my biggest perch of the year has not been big enough yet:( lots of 7, 8 inchers, a few close to nine. Never got into the jumbos, but my dad did get a few 12 inchers at caseville.

Hey Ozzgood2001,

I did give it some thought of having it mounted, but the wife rolled her eyes like I was freakin nuts. I told her at that point anything over 15" will be a wall hanger.
Wish now that I did have it mounted or let it go, because perch over 12" really dont tast as good. I have made a new pact anything over 12" will go to live another day unless its over 15" :D

In the 1st. week of Feb. I caught a 14 3/4" perch off of Gino's, got it jigging a swedish pimple for walleye. Caught it at 2:30pm in 10 fow on one of the windiest days I can remember. I do have 2 photos of it but don't know how to post.(35mm disposable camera) ~~~~~~~~~><> AL:cool:

my dad and i caught a couple of 15 inchers out of port sanilac a couple years back. We have caught a couple others almost that size trolling for salmon. Seen a guy come in with a 16 incher on miss port austin thispast year.
