Talked to Ann at Jacks Landing today she says they have 8 to 10 inches of good ice with 5 inches of snow on top Thats alot of snow Have not fished there in years but are planing a trip up Monday Night wow upset girl friend!! Looking for a couple of good places to fish for perch while I am there any suggestions would be more than appreciated.

Jeff, go out to the left of Jack's Landing. In between Jack's and the public launch. There is an old railroad bed that goes through there, it always hold fish. Take lots of bait, as the bait stealers will kill an afternoon of fishing real fast. Jigs and waxies have always been good for them. Plan on drilling lots of holes, and having sharp auger blades. As there is a lot of weeds and stumps that you may drill over. Good luck.

hey jeff just talked to my brother he fished there tuesday,they went out in front of the public launch 100-150 yrds mostly pike fishing,said there were alot of little perch over there,had six flags go off and caught only 2 pike.if there driving out the best place for big perch through the ice is straight out from the public launch head a little to the left staying anywhere from 50 -150yrds from the stumps sticking out of the ice about 4-6' of water.its aways out but always worth the effort.youll see alot of perch weve caught perch up to 15" out there,you just have to fight your lures past the little ones.if you head out where snoman says try anything in silver for crappies,i use the old blades from erie dearies and solder a hook on them the crappies love it!!! ps.dont stare down in the wholes like i do the pike like to follow your cath up the wholes!!! have fun.....

Heading to Alpena for late season firearm on 12/28/00. Will be hitting fletchers a few times. Looking for some recent reports,any out there?
