I like to find out if there is a website or number I can go to in order to find out a list of private land that the public can hunt on. I normally hunt up in Cadillac , but because of workloads I probably will not make it back for the rest of the rifle or bow season. I know that there are areas where the DNR and Private land owners have made agreements to allow people to hunt. I live in Genesee County and would like to find out if there are these type of areas around me. I'm just not sure where to start looking.

Thanks for the help.

Has anyone ever done this? How was your experience? What are Self-Service boxes? I am sorry for all the questions but I have never tried using one of these properties for hunting.

I've done it quite a bit. A self serve box is like a mailbox with prewritten letters of authorization to be on the property. You simple sign in on a clipboard and have fun. They usually contain a map of huntable areas and places to park. When your done, sign out and record your game collected.

I think that the Hunter Access Program is wonderful. These are some great areas to bow hunt.

It is also available on our website at www.dnr.state.mi.us (http://www.dnr.state.mi.us) but if you have a problem finding it, just let me know. email: tunksk@state.mi.us

Tunks, thanks for your support on our site. I want all you guys and gals to know that the people you see logging onto this site from the DNR and helping out are doing so all out of their own initiative and have not been asked to do so by me. We should be thankful of the time they are spending to answer our questions here.

The Website link gave me the info I needed. Thank you to the DNR and fellow hunters contributions to my post.

Steve, I'm keeping the site in mind when I purchase merchandise on the net. I will make ever effort to make those purchases in a manner that will get the site credit.

We can now consider this topic closed.

The POWER OF THE NET!!!

Thanks Again,

Don
