Should I buy a shappell 4000

Hey all,

I have the chance to buy a shappell 4000 for $200.00. Whats your input? you guys are the field testing team for everything out there.
My concern is the weight, and set up by my self (4 kids)

What do you think? we are all crammed into a Frabill hide out now!

Yes if you dont want it you can resell it easily for that .

Darn good price! Plus they're light enough to handle, and easy to pop up.

I have had mine for about 5 years. I like it but you will have problems with strong winds. Tough to put up when your by yourself when it is windy and the wind rattles it.

Other then that I use it all the time and with two guys its very roomy.

I recommend it!

Very,Very nice shanty's i have fished out of them many times
I have two different fishin' buds that have them. They pull easy
across the snow on the flip up skies and they set up fast and
easy. For $200 you can't go wrong!;)

i have had mine 5 years also, very nice, easy to transport in a pickup,skies are a huge bonus when there is snow on the ice, had mine out yesterday on L.S.C. with wife & 2 kids very roomy, we put 3 buckets full of stuff plus 4 folding chairs, 2heaters, 5# popane bottle,auger,bag of food, blankets, and 2 lanterns on it and pulled it out with my golf cart, no problems at all and i bet i had 200plus #s on it . we got stuck in the rain to and had no problem staying dry. i love and will definitely buy another one in a heart beat. p.s. had 4 bits but did not get a single fish from 8:00 a.m to 5:45 p.m. in 8fow at metro, guys were gettin some in 3fow. good luck,buy it.

I would buy the 4000 .One thing that I like about the 4000 is the head room.I have the 3000 and I'm 5ft 10 and I can't stand all the way up to streach out.The only down fault is the bigger the shanty the more it will weigh.

There is one in Cabelas Bargin Cave right by the entrance, just over $200.00, it was used but in the box.

And Knutsons Sporting Goods in Brooklyn had 2 for 269.00.

And other ice fishing goods on sale.
