I was just reading thru some posts about tip ups and noticed that some members are saying they spool theirs counter-clockwise? Is this the correct way? or is clockwise correct?

Whichever way will trip the trigger will work. Check it out before you spool the line.

I have one of those frabill lite-bite magnetic tip ups, so I guess it doesn't matter which way I spool it if that's the case.

I think my post about the Frabill Polar tip up is what you are referring too. The package said to wind the line on counter clockwise and that is the only reason I did that. I just unspooled all the line and wound on clockwise to check. It seems to work that way as well. Maybe other tipups operate differently, but for the Frabill Polar tip up, it does not seem to matter which way the line is spooled on. I have not actually used it fishing yet so this was just a "bench test". The only thing that might matter is when you use the large bait clip but I don't see this effecting it either whether you wind clockwise or counterclockwise.

I wind mine on both clockwise and counterclockwise at the same time. Just a matter of weather you are looking at it from the top or bottom.;)
