dogfish anyone??

Hi Folks,
I run into a man and his son last year in anchor bay that were after spearing dogfish (bowfin)thru the ice. He told me that dogfish is a freshwater cod and tastes just like cod. He said they are very good eatingand don't have many bones.I've seen them for sale in oriental markets live and for sale. Has anyone out here ever ate dogfish??? I think I may try em!! Tanks Johnr

If you are referring to Bowfin, I have a neighbor who loves to eat them. I have tried them and they aren't bad, I have caught them during open water on spinnerbaits while bass fishing, on light tackle they can be real fighters!
