Got back a day early from Simcoe, the snow on Wed. made the lake impossible to fish when your only means for travel is a four wheeler. We fished out of Sibbald Pt on Wed. and only caught a handful of perch and one Lake Trout. We simply couldn't fish where we wanted, snow depths ranged from 18" to three foot drifts. Ice depths were nearly 30". Heard of good perch action off of Virginia Beach, and we tried to get there but way too much snow. If your going in the near future you better have a sled or hook up with one of the hut operators. Sorry for still another bad Simcoe report.

Hey Rencoho sorry I didn't get a chance to hook up with you. We fished with Randy's Huts and did well. First day 2 of us got 20. The second day we finished with 75 perch and a nine pound white fish. Tons of snow thick ice. We were using wigglers. Did best using the wigglers the fish were spitting up. Had a great time and can't wait to get back there again.

Happy to hear you did well Bigdaddy, where does Randy have his huts located? That whitefish must have been quite a tussel on perch gear. One of our guys managed to to catch a lake trout around 8 lbs and it took him about 20 minutes, we were fishing in 29 feet of water when he caught it.

Rencoho - Well I wish I would have read your post before I left for Simcoe last Friday. I would have thought twice.

I fished out of Siddald Point too. I was able to follow some tracks out to Georgina before I buried my quad. It was really tough to move around and find the fish.

Then Saturday night we get 6 more inches of snow, along with a temp. drop down to 3 degrees farenheit, with 20 mph winds to boot.

The worst trip in 4 years for me.

I wouldn't be heading up to Simcoe without a snow machine untill that snow melts some.
