Bad Rumor, I hope!

I heard a very disturbing rumor out on Higgins lake a couple weeks ago. Someone said that the Native Americans are going to gill net Higgins this summer. Anyone else heard this?

I wish the legislation would put some of these "reporations" in perspective!

Believe me, the Indians got the short end of the stick, in every which way possible! But,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

This isn't going to help "our" natural resources in the future!

Or maybe, they're just trying to save some lute on the food bill, in the casino's!:rolleyes:

I've been surveyed by dnr personnel the past 3 winters on houghton lake, they were not checking license or any other legalities, they were only interested in creel surveys, what you were fishing for and how you went about it....read somewhere a while back that the indians were going to sue for inland water gill netting, apparently they have this right in other states and want to stuff this down our throats, asked one dnr surveyor about this and he stated that is why they are doing these surveys, to prepare for a court battle against those poor casino operating tax free redskins...so they can not only rape the great lakes but our inland waters as well....

Same topic just different lakes where brought up last year on sound off. That tread got pretty nasty so I think This topic does not belong on the icefishing forum.
