I'm not 100% sure yet, but I think I will have one of these this summer ! It just looks TOOO COOOL.
It's a Humminbird WIRELESS fish finder ! I saw these at BPS a couple of months ago and had no idea what they were talking about. I just went to their website and found out. It is a regular LCD fishfinder that has a CORDLESS transducer !!! How sweet is that ?!
You attach it to the end of a line and cast it out. It then floats on top of the water and tells you just what a normal fishfinder would. But the cool part is that you can use it from a boat, shore, dock, pier, or wherever you're fishing.
I think it would be IDEAL to use at someplace like Stoney Creek on the middle lake. (the one on the North side of the middle dam)
That has a pretty good dropoff and I've always wondered what the contours were like there. They run about $169. It might be a "gimmick" but it looks like a GREAT idea to me. I think I might risk the money and pick one up this spring. I can't wait to try it out. Here's a link to the product site :
