Anybody going out this weekend? Iam thinking of going to look for some ice saturday. hopefully i can find a lake with atleast 2 inches. A bluegill dinner is sounding awful good.
I've heard there's ice on some of the lakes in the Newaygo area. I'm going to give it a try. A fresh 'gill dinner does sound really good!

Hey Mikefde, We dont live too far from each other.. Would you mind letting me know if you find any safe ice this weekend?? Due to Holiday commitments I won't be able to do any searching this weekend, but am getting the itch to get out.
I'm going muzzleloading for a while in the AM, then its off to find some ice. I would just spend all day on the ice but there is more meat on a deer, and the freezer is close to being empty. Can't decide on pike or panfish. Chad.

checked out alot of ice this weekend... seen a few people at gun lake but didnt fish. checked out the lakes over by sunfield seen people on tammrack lake. people were not catching much and said there was about 2 inches. the ice looked really scary to me.so if you dont mind fishing on 1 1/2 - 2 inches of ice go out but iam waiting for a few more cold nights.i did hear of people fish saddlebag lake but they said they only stayed a 1/2 hour because they didnt feel safe. the ice would crack everwhere they walked on it. i havent heard nothing on morrison and i drove by jordan didnt see anybody on it. the search is on again tonight... still looking for that bluegill dinner.......
