I went out on the sagnasty tonight and managed another tagged walleye, this one had the regular address but it said reward $100.
I have never heard of such a thing....Anybody else catch one like that?
This is like the 4th tagged walleye I have caught on the river in the past 3 years..Two in the past 2 weeks. Seen about 5 tags iced altogether.

We have seen those tags on birds too. They dont want the animal they are just having a hard time with people reporting tags. So they figured they would give you an incentive. My friend got one a a duck this year, it had the standard metal leg band and it also had a plastic one on there that said $100 reward. He was rewarded with a $100 savings bond.

Usually, in addition to the tag, they are looking for sex, weight, maturity and length. Lake Leelanau has tagged walleye that the DNR are tracking and that's the info they are requesting. I'd recommend calling your local DNR office and requesting the information sheets specific to the body of water you caught the fish. They'll gladly send you the info you need.

Sweet! Now I can tell my wife that getting out fishing more often can possibly bring in some extra cash! Don't anyone tell her the odds of catching one! ;) :D

I got one off Sandusky once. It was from Lake St. Clair. I got the data sheet and a patch.

I went to the Bay city Dnr location today.

They said that they released 300 reward tagged walleyes in the saginaw river 2 years back. None since.
We are catching a lot of bands on walleyes right now.....You can report the band on the DNr website and they will send you out a letter telling when the fish was tagged and how big it was....If you get a reward tag you have to go to the DNR staion for verification.
If you have caught a tagged fish or shot a banded bird and not reported it you are wasting OUR money!! IT only takes a couple of seconds to log the fish into the system.
