I've been trying to find blades for my strikemaster 10" power auger (2 blade). Called Bass Pro, Cabelas, Gander mtn. (Utica and Flint). No one has them. Anyone know of any store that might have some. I would like to get a new set before heading for Saginaw Bay this weekend.
thanks

Thought maybe I could give you a hand with this. I called Hicks Archery & Tackle just NW of Flint but they are out of stock til next season. I then called Fishing Tackle Grab Bag in Davison. The guy there said he will be placing an order with Strikemaster in the morning and the stuff will be in on Wednesday. He is not ordering those blades, but if you call him @ 810-653-4771 he will include that in the order. Need to call him ASAP though. Good luck with the blades and on the Bay!:)

Thanks High powered.
I checked with Frank's and they had a couple of sets. Now, I have an excuse to get up there and buy more tackle. I really like that store, makes ya feel like a kid in a candy store.
Have you dealt with Grab bag, that ofton? Just curious, I bought the new Frabil bait "Box", with the aerator. Had problems with the aerator, and the guy there (seemed to be the guy in charge), kept telling me that there wasn't anything wrong with it and that I just had to keep messing with the on / off switch. I tried to explain it to him that I just bought from him, so why should I have to keep jiggling the wiring inside. He basically told me to live with it for now, and if he got anymore in, he would replace it. I asked him when he was ordering more, and he said that they were junk and he didn't plan on ordering any more. Talk about changing a story in mid stream.
I walked out and don't plan on going back.
To bad, because there is a couple of other guys in there that are pretty helpful.

Everyone I know has had problems there from time to time, I always get more 'know-it-all' advice rather than good fishing conversation, and yet, i have to go there all the time because it is the closest bait/tackle I've got. I've probably said too much already.

the Grab Bag is DEFINITELY NOT my first choice, but I do go there on occasion if I'm already driving M-15 that direction or haven't been able to find what I'm looking for elsewhere and I know they have it in cuz I called ahead. Just thought I'd give you a hand in your search. With regards to the 'guy in charge' I have dealt with the owner several times and while I haven't had to return anything he seemed like a good guy. Gary on the other hand is a complete douchebag IMO!

Mcanes1,
Sounds like a raw deal to me. I would notify Grab Bag Manager that you want a prompt refund, If they refuse to provide refund let the Manager know that you will contact their local Better Buisiness Bureau to file a complaint followed by a letter to Frabill notifying them of your dissatisfaction with their local dealer and product. May not hurt to make Him aware of the "Bad Press" his shop is getting here (where hundreds, maybe thousands of his potential customers make daily visits) and his waning oppurtunity to "Set things right". Unless this guy is a complete Moron he will want to avoid all the negative clamour and word of mouth.
I for one am just as Grateful for information regarding shadey merchants as I am for info about Good Merchants or Great Deals.
Good Luck,
Mike

I rather warn people, like this post. Instead of calling the better business bureau on them. From now on, I won't give them anymore business, I'll drive out of my way to get my tackle and bait.

After doing a quick check on the BBB site this Morning I found that Grab Bag is not even a member of their local BBB, so chances are a complaint would not incite any response from them anyways. I just wanted to make you aware that a complaint to the BBB is not a legal action of any kind. The BBB is simply a mediating group comprised of participating buisness owners that encourage ethical practices. It's more of a "Consumers Report" for potential customers to review prior to dealing with a particular company. A report would reveal both good and bad and indicate how or if a company deals with complaints.
Just a quick FYI.
Good Luck,
Mike

My feelings about the BBB are you'd be better off calling Homer Simpson than wasting your time with the BBB. It would be two winters from now before they got around to doing nothing about it. I live only a few miles from the Grab Bag, many times I've left there thinking I wont go back. However twice in the last few weeks I went in because its so close and both times this winter recieved friendly service. I'm sure I will go back now, but I will be glad to post a message if they treat me like I'm wasting their time, as they have done in years past.

Well I didnt mean to imply that the BBB was anxiously awaiting a new complaint to investigate. But I have used their online reporting to "Check up" on merchants in the past before making a large purchase and I avoid dealing with unfamilar merchants that are not listed as members of their local BBB. It's simply a means of avoiding potential problems with an unethical company.
For myself, I live by the "Screw me once shame on you, Screw Me twice, Shame on Me" Credo.

I was there maybe 4 weeks ago and there was a new guy working { new to me, don't know how long he has been there but I think he was new} anyways, he was helping a walleye newbe and told him to get 2# or 4# line for walleye. I went over and help him out the best I could. He thank me. I don't usually butt in, I had to this time. I go there when I can't get it anywhere else or I need it now and can't wait.
