Started out on the main lake off the Eastwood Beach area. Drilled several holes and moved around various depths from probably 5ft to 15ft trying both teardrops with waxworms and a sweedish pimple with a minnow with no luck. No bites or anything. Lots of wind and cold though.

I then headed over to the north lake and headed out probably 50-100 ft from the dam. Ice was 20-24" thick (didn't measure, just guessed). I set up a tipup near the east shore probably about 50-100ft off shore with a pike sucker on it. I then headed out to the middle of the lake and started jigging with a teardrop and waxworm and also a sweedish pimple with a minow (not at the same time however, only jigged one rod and had one tipup at a time) I drilled several holes and moved around a bit. I finally caught a small bluegill and the skunk was off. I moved a little closer to the dam and tried the clump of waxworms in 15 feet of water about 5-8 feet down. I did get one gill that was bigger than any I have caught in the north lake (about the size of my hand). I thought things would pick up. The fish must have been a stray though as I didn't really get anything else. I looked over and my tipup flag was up. I ran over there, set the hook and began pulling. I wasn't sure if I had anything but, lo and behold, I pulled a 14.5" largemouth bass out. I don't know how it swallowed that pike sucker. The sucker was about 8-10" long and looked like it was stuck in the bass's throat. I removed the sucker, measured the fish, and then sent it back home down the hole.

It was nice to be out but very cold. I am lucky I didn't get frostbite. Hope it warms up a little (not too much though )
