went out this morning for rainbows. the first fish on was a big one. i let it do its thing then the fight began. she ran 50ft in 1 ft. of water. i finiannlly got her to the hole and guess what snap she was gone 15 mins. later,yes again the fight was on,but this time i landed it. 7lbs 26in. rainbow in 1ft. of water.be safe ice is thin:cool:

1ft! Wow. I heard they get them shallow up there, but thats crazy! Nice fish, what did you get it on?

should've stopped by for a pic. weighted in a 6.5 lber sunday morn, by the way wigs are bigger this week. nice fish see you this weekend. b.b.

What a rush!! My first Higgins Lake Rainbow. Words can't explain it, especially in one foot of water. After icing her I looked up to give thanks and there was a bald eagle soaring at tree top height. ;)

26" 6.21 lb

Good job, Gary! That's one to be proud of (as if the smile on your face doesn't tell that story). Hope ya do it again before ice out!

im 2 for 5 on rainbows. gary you finally got one thats great. usally in 1or 2 ft. early morning. try wiggys on small treble hook.

Good Job Gary! Very nice fish. I bet that was a rush. I would have to run back to the truck to change my shorts if I got a fish like that.:D

Thanks guys, fun way to fish `em.Northern_Outdoorsman I was fishing the very north end of the lake , in 1fow using livley wigglers! I`m waiting for this warm spell to arrive so I can hunt `em down again.In the meantime just thinking of big boats, big fish,big nets,and big waves :eek: Well 3 outta 4 anyway.Still 3' of ice on Higgy.

Haven't been there in a few years but I think I know where ya were...they come right up to shore after ice out!

If your fish`n Higgins! Stop by and see Barnicle Bill and wife Tina.Very helpful with all our fish`n needs. I`m game for another thrill :eek: + there not bad to eat,,,Awful tasty .

gm-uaw went out with his friends today fishing for lakers and whites. caught 8 lakers, 14 whitefish. will be going out friday. give me a call if your interested. b.b.

Another beautiful morning in Gods Country. :) 22" 4.22 lbs of Higgins Lake Rainbow. The eagle was soaring again. ;)

went out for the hunt for rainbows . lost 2 and the gary rodbonder got one.( 4 lb )rain bow havent had a chance to get back out. we did see eagle right after gary landed fish that was pretty bird.
