Heading over to pentwater tommorrow to try out my new slammers. Any one going? I should be there by 10 maybe we could meet up some were. Any one with a report? I'll report when I get back. Hopfully a good one to:D

If you can get to Pwater early you will probably stand abetter chance. Last sunday there was one quick bite around 8 or 8:30 steel through the ice usually goes this way.

thanks plugger I think I might try and get up there earlier. what are the evenings like, any good or not?

Bluedevil.....I haven't fished much in the afternoon but it seems like the best bite is generally in the am. However, if there is a good melt happening I don't see why there wouldn't be fishing moving to the rivermouth/on the bite.

I fished Pentwater Lake this morning with 3 friends. We got on the ice about 7:30 am and fished until 10pm . We had fresh Steelhead spawn and never had a bite. There were about 13 guys fishing and I never saw anybody who even looked like they had a bite. Walking off the ice I asked a fellow fisherman if he had any action and he said no. He did say one fish was caught right at first light and that was it. I think we need some warmer weather to get them moving.

I here ya newago river rat I was out there yesterday too and heard the same thing. I fished untill one or so and back out by 3:30. there was only 7 guys out there 2 of which were fishing for suckers. They did catch two but know one had any steelhead. Maybe better luck next time.

What about White or Pere Marquette Lakes?? Anyone hear of anything from those lakes?? You usually don't because the locals keep it "hush-hush". More area to fish than cramming up the "slot" on Pentwater and fishing elbow to elbow with the Moores, Twinings, and Rendulics - they usually have the good spots filled by 4:00AM on Pentwater anyway.

Fished pentwater again today and looked like actions picked up a little, but of course not for me. First two fish came at five after seven and then three more between 7:30 to 8:00. from then on it was somewhat slower. Stayed till 11:00 and saw about 8 or 10 fish caught.

I'm going to keep trying thought. I,m bound and determaned to get a steelie throught the ice, while the ice still lasts.

Hey, where were you sitting? I also was there and hooked up with solasylum and a couple of his buddies. It was a little slow today but a nice day to try for them. I stayed till noon and nothing happened after you left. Only three guys left when I headed out. Maybe next time will be better for us! Hope to meet up some time.

I will be on Pwater tomorrow with the two man fish trap, stop over and gaff a couple of fish for me and say HI. Beleive it or not we fished the Ludington harbor last night, with sammers.

catfishhodge... I was sitting in close and right between the 2nd and 3rd house to the west. I have pink flags on my "similar to slammers" (sorry matt only thing I could think of). dont know if you saw me but yea that would be great to get together sometime.

plugger... how did you do in ludington and how was the ice? Good luck tommorrow heard the wheather was going to turn to sh%*.

Ice in the harbor was not excessive to say the least and steel were nonexistent but its something we had to try once.

Well if I were you fellas, I would try very hard to get to pentwater next weekend. The steelhead are sure to come in big time. How do I know that you ask? Because I can't be there!:(

Hey guys , I was there on Saturday also . Fishing all by myself . I was in the brown camo . Fished kinda on the outside edge in front of the grey house in the morning . Caught 1 nice 7/8 lb Hen . ( caught her on Wigglers ) Fished Saturday night , only 3 other guys out there . They had no luck at all . I ended up with another 8/9 lb hen . I had another one on , fought it for about 3 to 5 minutes. Hit the bottom of the ice and its was gone :(
All in all a good Saturday though . I got some much needed fresh spawn . Chartuse bag with chartuse floaters was the hot bait . Saturday night .

Hey surfman that was me right next to you to the west. I was over there when you caught that one in the morning. I had on a black hooded carhartt and was out there by myself too.

Hey MS guys....we need to get together. I was out there on Saturday and met Catfishoge.....nice meeting you Rick!! I wear a big black coat, black snowpants, green hooded sweatshirt, and a MS.com camo hat!!

My buddy went out Sunday and limited out!! Unfortunately I couldn't make it out. Action was similar to Saturday with about 8-10 fish caught. My buddy just happened to be in the right spot. His fishing partner didn't have a release!

I will be out next weekend. Usually setup along the wall somewhere.

Hey, anyone want to get together thursday(3/6) or friday(3/7) at pentwater? It doesnt matter to me im open every day except wednesday. If not during the week then whos going this weekend(sorry catfishhoge:( )? I dont think I can make it saturday but im pretty sure I can on sunday. Lets try and get something going.

Blue....can't make it during the week unfortunately. I will be there one or both days this coming weekend. I'll know better as the weekend gets closer. I am not sure how good the fishing will be this week with the colds temps we are currently having and what is forecasted. It is supposed to be warmer on Friday so the weekend looks promising.

I'll let you know later this week what my plans are.

I am going to watch the weather. I may hit pwater thursday afternoon. If things look bearable I will probably fish there this weekend if I dont get a trip to try for whitefish put together.

Hey fellas, save one for me! It will be a couple weeks till I can get back there. If the ice is gone then it won't bother me too bad. I am looking for spring weather as much as anyone. So go ahead, ICE the fish!
