I know there's been alot of guys fishing it for whitefish and burbot. They must be catching some if they're keeping at it every day. Elk Lake also has a good rainbow and lake trout population. That's also part of the Chain-of-Lakes where some of the Atlantic salmon that have been heavily planted in Torch Lake have migrated down to. Most of my buddies have been fishing East Bay and/or Torch Lake for the whitefish and burbot. Whitefish are really hitting good on East Bay, but they haven't been getting much in the way of perch out there. One of my neighbors has fished East Bay a few times this week and has done well on the brown trout. He said alot of guys fishing for the whitefish all had quite a few on the ice. They also were catching some good size burbot. But apparently some of these guys don't know what the burbot are, or that they are good eating. They were leaving them on the ice thinking that they are dogfish. My buddy walked around and picked up 9 of them and put 'em in his sled box.
